PTA conducts its work in support of every child, through advocacy
PTA advocates through action
We encourage all local unit PTA/PTSAs to keep a close eye on the legislature and take action on the issues, when PTA sends out information and action alerts. Public policy is often developed without benefit of input from the public education community. Legislators and policy makers frequently have little or no knowledge of public education. PTA is a powerful voice for children and we need to make ourselves heard by the policy makers.
BCCPTA/PTSA meets with members of the Broward County Delegation throughout the year. We encourage local units to also meet with legislators while they are home in their districts.
The Florida PTA Legislative Conference will be held January 30th - Feb 1st in Tallahassee and virtually. This is a great opportunity to learn about PTA's role in advocating for all children. The conference promises to be informative and entertaining; you will add your voice to many others who make sure your children get the best of what they deserve.
