Cooking Workshops

By utilizing the CATCH evidence-based curriculum and resources from the USDA’s MyPlate nutrition standards, FLIPANY’s chef instructor/nutrition educators will deliver nutrition workshops to participants. Including interactive food demonstrations and hands-on healthy cooking lessons. Participants will get a chance to sample the food prepared, learn about the benefits of healthy eating, modifying recipes, cooking tips and shopping on a budget.  Limited to 25 participants per session. 

Food Tastings 

BCPS Food & Nutrition Services will be hosting a tasting table full of variety and well-balanced nutritious meal samples.  See for yourself how school lunches provide an assortment of foods that taste great and are healthy, meeting the Dietary Guidelines for Americans.  

Did you know that over 100 schools are providing FREE Breakfast AND Lunch to all students on campus?  Learn if your school is one of these, as well as find out if your family qualifies for free or reduced meals at your school.

Groceries on a Budget 

Is healthy eating too expensive? Let us help you learn how to eat healthy at home even on a budget! Caregivers and older students welcome. 

Hands On Stress Reduction 

Youth and adults are invited to join group sessions in:

Anti-Bullying and Anxiety Peer to Peer Talks 

Caregivers and students are invited to interactive bullying and suicide prevention sessions that will guide you  on how to navigate district policies covering bullying.  

Peer-to-peer groups will be facilitated by students who have direct experiences as targets of bullying, or are former bystanders to situations involving bullying.
