Local Unit Highlights...
Coral Springs PK-8 PTA
2020
They donated toys and books to the students that made the honor roll, and different sets of books and educational materials to the teachers for use in their classrooms.
Lyons Creek PTSA
2020
September is PTA Membership Month, and our spotlight Local Unit is a great example of how the "PTA Flexible" approach can really pay off by growing, engaging and connecting with their membership. They combined their membership drive with the school's Distribution Day, the week before school started.
In the 4 hours they were at the school, they earned over $1300 in sales of memberships, shirts, string bags and candy.
They signed up 25 new members, which brings their August membership drive up to 74 total members. They completely eliminated paper, and used iPads and laptops to directly sell through MemberHub.
With the exception of 1 board member, who is also a teacher and had a conflict, 5 members worked the event:
Tracey Morganelli
Saba Aamir
Lisa David
Dianne McGee
Lynn Williams
In addition to their successful Distribution Day, they have also launched their website, and started using social media to provide on-going communication and updates.

2019 COMCAST CARES
Comcast has a program called Comcast Cares that does community outreach in select areas. Every year Comcast chooses a school through a selection process, and sends over 400 Comcast volunteers to the school for beautification projects. This year, Dillard Elementary was chosen to be the project school.
Please watch the video to the left of Immediate Past President of the Broward County Council of PTA's / PTSA's Mrs. Wendy King interviewing Dillard Elementary's Community Liaison Mrs. Reeves about this event.
