ELECTIONS

Virtual Election Rules

You must complete registration in order to participate in the upcoming elections. PLEASE read through the Bylaws listed that will govern this election process which may be taking place on the ZOOM platform.

BCCPTA Bylaws, Article VI:  Officers and Their Election, Section 3. 

Only delegates from local PTAs/PTSAs whose dues have been received by the council at least thirty (30) days prior to the election meeting may vote in the annual election of officers

BCCPTA Bylaws, Article VI:  Officers and Their Election, Section 4, C.

Nominations may be made from the floor. Only those who have consented to serve shall be eligible for nomination, either by the committee or from the floor. 

 BCCPTA Bylaws, Article IX: Voting Body

The voting body of this council shall consist of the council executive board, the president of each local unit in membership (or an elected officer), the principal (or a representative),  up to _3__ delegates selected by each unit according to its own procedure and the area zone representatives.

 BCCPTA Bylaws, Article V: members and Dues, Section 3

Delegates from local PTAs/PTSAs whose dues to the council are in arrears shall not participate in the business meetings of the council.

 BCCPTA Bylaws, Article VI: Officers and Their Election, Section 2, A

Only members of a local PTA/PTSA whose national, state and council dues are current shall be eligible to hold office or serve on a council committee.

 NOTICE: If the meeting is held on Zoom and you plan on calling in via telephone, the platform Zoom will not allow those who dial in by phone to vote by ballot but only voice.
